Music Festival 2009
Lancaster has a truly phenomenal music scene for such
a small city. At last count there were 31 venues that put on live
music either regularly or occasionally. Twenty of these are within
easy walking distance of each other in the city centre.
Lancaster is also home to nearly 100 acts, many of
world class calibre of all ages and all genres.
This year we aim to build on last year's event and
run a full on music festival in on the weekend of Oct. 9th - 11th
(see Lancaster
Music Festival for full details). There will be around 20 venues
putting on a wide variety of music from local and international
artists with several music themes running throughout such as jazz,
blues, world, folk, indie, punk, rock and pop. Additionally, we
expect major label workshops, panels and showcase opportunities.
This event is organised through a partnership with The One Planet
Festival, Lancaster Venues and Lancaster based international booking
agency, CME Artist
Services.
